a passion for perfection...
CREATING a world class course only a few miles from his hometown Troon was a dream come true for Colin Montgomerie. Colin fell in love with the land the moment he laid eyes on its 1000-year-old yew trees, trout streams, and two spectacular castles.
The rolling parkland course will be a perfect addition to the impressive portfolio of courses he has created in partnership with European Golf Design, including the acclaimed Carton House Golf Club in Dublin, the Royal Golf Club at Riffa Views, Bahrain, The Dutch Golf Club in Holland and Papillon Golf Club in Turkey.
Drawing from his experience of playing tournament golf on the finest courses in the world, Colin is using the natural rolling contours of Rowallan and blending links features like pot bunkers to create a parkland course that will be relevant for all ages and abilities of golfers.
As Colin says: “When I saw the land I fell in love with it. I aim to build a course that will compliment the spectacular old links courses we are so lucky to have in Ayrshire.”
